Doctor

Dr. Jeffrey S Steed , D.V.M.

Jeff joined the staff in August 1998 and shortly after purchased the shares of Drs. Herr & Thomson to become the managing partner. He is a 1994 graduate of the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He is very involved with First United Methodist Church in downtown Lancaster and is currently President of the Overlook Dog Park Association. An avid Ohio State football fan, he lives in Leola with his wife Kathy and their children Jarod and Sophia. His home is also shared with 2 cats Manhatten, fondly known as Mannie, and Roadie, his Jack Russell Lexi and an English Lab named Gibson.

Marc H Rovner

Marc was born in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania where his father also practiced veterinary medicine before retiring. After graduating from Penn State University Marc attended University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, graduating Cum Laude. He joined our staff in 1972. A resident of Lancaster, Marc has two grown daughters and enjoys folk music and photography.

Dr. Krista A Corey , V.M.D.

Originally from Danielsville, PA Krista joined our staff in January 2003. She graduated with a B.S. from Penn State in 1991 and the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine (VMD) in 1995. Krista is passionate about her work at Manheim Pike Veterinary Hospital and she delivers excellent and compassionate care to all her patients. Krista lives with her daughter, Amanda, her English Lab Kolby and four cats. Outside of work Krista enjoys her involvement with Mary Kay. She also likes horseback riding, reading and playing with her daughter.

Dr. Donald M Herr

Dr. Herr built Manheim Pike Veterinary Hospital in 1964 with his wife Dr. Patricia L. Thomson, also a veterinarian. Dr. Thomson retired in December 2001 and Dr. Herr also went into semi retirement. He practices specialty dental procedures one day per week.

Management

Denise J Warner

Originally from Philadelphia, Denise joined our staff in 1987. Denise lives in Lititz with her husband George and two children, Emma and Cole. In her spare time Denise enjoys spending time watching her children play soccer, baking & cooking, volunteering for The Girl Scouts, Lititz Springs Swim Team and Lititz Youth Soccer Club. Denise and her family share their home with two cats Carly & Color.

Technician

Sarah Dohren , C.V.T.

Originally from Downers Grove Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, Sarah graduated in 1996 from the University of Wisconsin with a B.S. in Wildlife Management and Biology. Sarah is a Certified Veterinary Technician. Sarah and Matt have many pets that live with them. Damayla is a female Domestic short hair cat about 8-9 years old. Roush is a four year old male Domestic short hair. Twister, a seven year old black Flat Coated Retriever who is AKC registered by the name Fancy's F-5 Funnel Cloud. He is a professional jumper. She enjoys greeting new patients and continuing to see existing patients and their families grow up together.

Julie Whaley , C.V.T.

Julie is originally from Youngstown Ohio. She graduated from Wilson College in 2001 with a B.S. VMT degree and concentrated in biology. Julie and her husband Dave live in Landisville with their son, Keegan and new baby girl, Aubrey born August 20, 2007. They share there house with 3 pugs named Spike, Clay and Oliver and 2 cats named Issac and Sidney. Julie enjoys hiking and skiing and she loves working with animals.

MaryBeth Whittredge , C.V.T.

MaryBeth was born and raised in Rochester, New York. She attended and graduated from the State University of New York College of Technology at Delhi, in 1993. She relocated to Arizona in 1995.There she became a Certified Veterinary Technician in 1997. She then relocated with her husband to York, Pennsylvania in 2009 to be closer to family, after having 2 children. She brought their 7 cats along to take a trip across the country and is now a great member of our team!

Reception

Sue Rigg , Client Relations

Sue came to work with us in March 2005. Sue lives in Lititz with her husband John and her daughter Hannah, born in December 2007. She has a labrador retriever named Wilbur, and one adult cat named Frank that they adopted from the Humane League. Before joining the MPVH team, Sue worked as a dental assistant for her family's practice, and also at Penn Veterinary Supply selling veterinary supplies and providing support to outside reps.

Marie Rose , Client Relations

Marie, a Lancaster native, now lives in York County. Previously Marie worked at a veterinary hospital in York. Marie lives in a household of MEN. She and her husband Todd have 3 sons.
She is a great lover of dogs, especially "little" ones.

Kim Roy , Client Relations

Kim joined our team in November 2007. Her previous position was as an assistant manager at Rhubarbs Market and is currently a Client Service Representative. She has two grown daughters, Kelly and Paula. She loves her 3 cats Isabella, Clawde and Violet along with her turtle, Turtie. She enjoys reading, movies and especially knitting. She loves working at Manheim Pike Veterinary Hospital because it combines her love of people and animals with her passion for service. She will go above and beyond to make you happy. Megan Good , Client Relations

Megan joined our team in June of 2008. Megan was born in Carlisle, PA and currently resides in Lancaster. She has 2 Airedale Terriers, Winston and Olivia, a 2 year old Orange tabby, named Kitty and a kitten named Dexter. She will be attending the Bel-Rea Institue of Animal Technology in March 2010 to gain an Associates Degree in Applied Science. She will then be working to get her Certification to become a Certified Veterinary Technician. Megan loves working with the animals any chance she gets.

Kennel

Kerrie Redkay , Hospital Caretaker

A native of Lancaster County, Kerry now lives in Akron. He joined our staff in May 2001 as our hospital caretaker.

Assistants

Adam Bailey , Veterinary Assistant

Adam joined the staff August of 2003. He attended Moravian College in 2000. Prior to working here, he worked at Stauffers of Kissel Hill, Bombergers and UPS. He enjoys reading, writing and architectural drawing. Adam works hard as a veterinary assistant, helping doctors with appointments, filling presciptions and assisting surgeries.

Cherie Hoover , Veterinary Assistant

Cherie joined our team in August of 2006. She was born and raised in East Earl, PA. She married her high school sweetheart in May 2009 and now resides in Akron. Cherie has completed a Veterinary Assistant course and has ambitions to become a Certified Veterinary Technician. She has two bouncy yellow labs, Buddy and Dixie and a kitten named Eleanore. Since family and friends know Cherie's kind heart towards animals, she has experience fostering a few litters of kittens. It gives her great pleasure to watch them grow strong and recover to find a new life. Cherie loves to watch bonds grow between animals and their caretakers. She also enjoys art, photography and everything and anything outdoors.

Katie Stehman , Veterinary Assistant

A native of Lancaster, Katie joined our team in August of 2004. She lives with three cats and loves to see ferrets and guinea pigs. Katie enjoys reading, riding her bike, spending time outdoors and traveling to far away places.

Lauren Reinfried , Veterinary Assistant

Lauren began working at Manheim Pike Veterinary Hospital seasonally in the summer of 2005. She started working full time in July of 2009. She graduated in May 2009 from Pennsylvania State University, Berks Campus with a Bachelors degree in Life Sciences and a minor in Communication arts and sciences. She lives in Lititz with her family, 2 dogs and 1 cat. Jazmine, Lauren's yellow lab/german shepherd mix has been her good girl for 14 years. Sasha, her 7 year old, 3 legged pittbull mix is a goofy dog who likes to surf the carpet on her chest! Lelo, Lauren's 5 year old cat prefers to watch the family from a distance. Lauren loves to spend the weekends with her boyfriend Dave, on his tree farm. Lauren enjoys the challenge of working with dogs and cats. She strives to make all the patients comfy and cozy during their stay at Manheim Pike Veterinary Hospital.

Genevieve Watycha , Veterinary Assistant

Gen was born outside of Philadelphia and grew up in Ephrata, PA. She graduated from Florida State University in 1994 and moved back to Lancaster in 2002. She lives at home with her husband, her son, who was born in June 2008, Snarfles and Roomba her pug/bulldog mixes, and her cat, Nelly. Gen has experience in pet sitting and animal rescue. She enjoys jewelry making arts and crafts, photography and home remodeling. Gen, an interior designer by trade, joined our team in May, 2007 looking for a positive change and a chance to work with animals. She loves working in a field where the energy is high and she can make a difference in the lives of others.
